Q: Where is the Miracle League field located?
A: The Doug Inman Miracle League Field is located at Randol Mill Park, 1901 W. Randol Mill Rd. Arlington, Tx. It is located next to the Concession Stand. Take the first right when you enter the park.
Q: Is there a fee?
A: There is a $25.00 registration fee. Scholarships are available and automatically granted.
Q: What do I need to bring and what is provided?
A: Players will receive a baseball jersey and cap. Equipment is provided for game day use. Players are required to bring their own glove, if needed.
Q: When do we play?
A: Games are played each Saturday for six (6) weeks during the season. There are two season, Spring and Fall. The Spring season typically begins the end of March and the Fall Season begins mid September.
Q: What division should I register my child?
A: We have 4 Divisions:
Minor Division: 4-12 years old
Senior Division: 12 & Up
Major Classic Division: 8 & Up – Games played on Blue (Dirt) Field
Senior Classic Division: 14 & Up – Games played on Blue (Dirt) Field
WHEN CHOOSING A DIVISION ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS:
- Does my player require the use of any assisted devices? If yes, for the safety of all players using an assisted device the Doug Inman Field is recommended. The rubberized surface and accommodating dugouts will help players enjoy the game.
- Does my player have any experience with baseball? Have they played Miracle League Baseball or something similar? If Yes – Your player may be ready to play on the Blue field. Please consider the Classic Division.
- Can my player maintain stability on a different surface? If Yes – Your player may be ready to play on the Blue field. Please consider the Classic division.
- Can my player protect themselves if they fall? If Yes – Your player may be ready to play on the Blue field. Please consider the Classic division.
We are sensitive to the comfort of our players and will always make exceptions to best accommodate all players. Teams will be formed according to your child’s age and/or experience level. Safety is our MAIN concern, the Miracle League DFW reserves the right for placement. For all Divisions – games are participatory; your player will have the opportunity to bat every inning and score a run for his/her own team.
Level of function, in addition to age, is also considered when determining teams. Physical and communication capabilities are criteria utilized to make the best fit possible for every individual player. Our unique population has such a broad set of functional skills which allows us to place players on teams taking physical capability into account in addition to a players age. This can provide an ideal level of challenge and success for all players. Decisions regarding team placement are carefully considered and always remain fluid and subject to ongoing evaluation.
Q: When are practices?
A: There are a couple of teams that practice. Your coach will contact you if practices are scheduled.
Q: What is minimum age to participate?
A: Players start as young as 4 years old!
Q: How do I register to be a Buddy/Volunteer?
A: You will need to go to the Volunteer/Buddy tab and click the “SignUp” link. All games and times are listed. We recommend volunteering for two (2) games. Divisions are as follows: Minors – ages 4-10, Seniors 12 & up, Major Classic ages 8 & up, Senior Classic ages 12 & Up.
